Balancing Act Work: Aiming for Excellence

ðŸ“‚ Teaching is more than just a calling; it is also a responsibility that is regulated by laws and moral standards.       It is very important to adhere to these legal requirements so that I will be safeguarded against being teacher-shamed and also to avoid any legal issues. The Education Act of 1982 makes me realize that aside from rights, teachers are given various duties including academic freedom and the responsibility to protect students rights. Also, the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers offers teachers with permanent status, the right due process, and protection from false charges. Such clauses makes me feel safe and confident that even though teachers are the ones to enforce discipline and professionalism, they also have the right to be treated fairly.      One time, my teacher lightly pulled my hair while we were in class. Guiding Minds and Shaping the Future

ðŸ’»Teaching is both a duty and a privilege. I, as a future teacher, aim to help students comprehend the importance of content and at the same time develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills . I hope to inspire them traits of curiosity, flexibility, and lifelong learning. Therefore, I have students write journals to develop their reflective skills and learning independence. Evaluation is also a m...

But despite my best efforts, I ended up failing one of my classes and that was a turning point for me. I remember myself sitting on the end of my bed in a corner days after Christmas, thinking of changing program. It was at that point, I thought – of my younger self – a little girl   who once tell everyone, “ gusto ko maging teacher para makahawak ng chalk ,” and who loved to play-pretend with her imaginary students. It was this memory that helped me to see that perhaps my true calling was not in medicine but rather, education .      After a week into the field of education, it made me understand that teaching is like a collage, where you put in different kind of picture, but you still can create a beautiful masterpiece . It’s n...
