Guided by the Code: Ethical Teaching in the Digital and Physical World
The Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers acts as a guide for teachers, whether they teach through face-to-face interactions or online. The code stresses the importance of professionalism, justice, integrity, and dedication to the learners. In my opinion, as an aspiring teacher, adhering to these standards irrespective of the mode of instruction guarantees that students receive good education. Observing Ethics in Face-to-Face Teaching In classroom settings, the Code of Ethics requires teachers to maintain professionalism and fairness. For example: Scenario: During our Grade 5 activity, some students struggled to complete their task because of the lack of materials of other students. Instead of showing favoritism, our provided equal guidance to all learners, ensuring inclusivity.
