Embracing Teaching As My True Calling
📚 Teaching isn’t just an ordinary job, it’s a profession, a vocation, and a mission . I began my journey in Pharmacy , where I write endless lab reports and slept late at nights to review for tests. But despite my best efforts, I ended up failing one of my classes and that was a turning point for me. I remember myself sitting on the end of my bed in a corner days after Christmas, thinking of changing program. It was at that point, I thought – of my younger self – a little girl who once tell everyone, “ gusto ko maging teacher para makahawak ng chalk ,” and who loved to play-pretend with her imaginary students. It was this memory that helped me to see that perhaps my true calling was not in medicine but rather, education .
